Economics for Everybody is a new video curriculum produced by Compass Cinema in conjunction with Ligonier Ministries. The materials are taught by Dr. R.C. Sproul, Jr., and presented in a fun and captivating way. Dr. Sproul is an engaging and knowledgeable instructor. He is particularly suited to teach this series given his teaching background and his knowledge base in the Bible, different worldviews, and economics.

Luke and I have had the opportunity to use a number of products put out by Compass Cinema and have come to expect high caliber products from this company. Compass Cinema produced a Latin course from which my son and I have learned a lot and have greatly enjoyed called Visual Latin (if you're considering a Latin curriculum, you should check out my review of this resource). First Review of Economics for Everyone

Ligonier ministries and Compass Cinema have joined together in the production of a new series entitled "Economics for Everybody." The study features Dr. R.C. Sproul Jr. and attempts to bring the practical implications of economic ideas into plain view for the everyday person. In a rich correlation of film clips from the past, cartoon like images, and clips right from the home of Dr. Sproul Jr. we get to see in simple terms how our view of God and Man dramatically affects our view of politics and ultimately affects the economic world around us.

I recently did two things with this study that I've never done before. First, I purchased a pre-order copy of the entire curriculum. Normally I just wait for things to be released because you never really know what you're going to get. Great Christian economics program for kids and adults
Economics for Everybody is a biblical economics program for (almost) everybody. It is unapologetically Christian. The cornerstone of the program is "God owns everything" and the "north star principle of stewardship": God has made man his stewards who under authority of God's ownership manages property for the owner's benefit.

R.C. Sproul, Jr. is an excellent speaker (it must be genetic) gives 20-25 minute lectures. His engaging, clear explanation of basic economic concepts had me saying, "Oh! So that's what they mean by (fill in the blank)!" more than once. Each video is animated with great public domain (read: old) footage. The highlight of the series was in episode 8 with Charlie Chaplin as a metaphor for government. It was so perfect, I cried.

The 12 lessons build on each other and provide a thorough foundation for thinking biblically about economics.
